CJ's Dad described these two during his Father of the Bride speech as 'extraordinary human beings'. That about sums it up - they are a couple so full of love and joy and laughter that they just draw people to them. They are our most favourite friends, and their ceremony mentioned gin more times than I care to admit! Loads of their guests camped out in the vineyard surrounding CJ's parents' house in the lead up to the wedding, which lent the whole shebang a proper festive feel. CJ walked down the aisle with her bouquet held above her head, with all of their friends cheering their lungs out. The image of that is firmly ingrained in my memory, and never fails to bring a smile to my face. That, my friends, is how it's done.
They said:
"I take you to be my husband.
I love you like no other, and in front of all of our friends and family here today, I promise to love you for the rest of my life.
I promise to remember that love is a verb and not a noun, and I'll show my love to you through my actions every day.
I promise to celebrate all of our successes, no matter how big or how small.
I promise to love and support you through all of life's challenges.
Sometimes we may need to agree to disagree, but I promise to always communicate openly with you.
I promise to never take you for granted, because you are the best.
Then they did an interpretive dance to 'Simply the Best'. TOO fabulous.
